Setting Up Voice Chat (Java)

Install the mod, pick your microphone, and chat with whoever is standing nearby.

Two blocky neighbors chatting on a warm lantern-lit porch in the evening.

What You Need

Voice chat uses the Simple Voice Chat mod and works on Java only (Bedrock players can join Discord voice instead). You will need a Fabric or Forge mod loader matching the server version.

Install in Three Steps

First, install the Fabric loader for your Minecraft version. Second, drop the Simple Voice Chat mod file into your mods folder. Third, launch the game and join play.homeycraft.com; a microphone icon appears when it connects.

Using It in Game

Voice is proximity based: people hear you when they are near you, louder as they get closer, just like real life. Press V for voice settings, where you can set push to talk, adjust volumes per player, or mute yourself.

If It Does Not Connect

Check that your mod version matches the server version, and that your launcher is actually using the Fabric profile. Still stuck? Ask in Discord's help channel and someone will get you sorted.
